It's already been a week since the Ecofrost team got together to complete the PerPer : 100km by bike to connect our Belgian factory to our Ecofrost France site!

This Sunday, March 22nd, the Ecofrost team gathered for PerPer , an event organized to celebrate the inauguration of our Ecofrost France site!
On the agenda: a 100km bike ride from Péruwelz to Péronne, in 5 stages with 4 refreshment stops to keep the energy up 💪
Beyond the sporting challenge, this day primarily allowed us to create bonds between the teams and to introduce the French site to our Belgian colleagues.

🌍 Situation in Iran – quick summary at the request of some colleagues.
Since February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel have been conducting significant airstrikes against Iran. Iran has retaliated with missiles and drones targeting Israel and US bases. The conflict is spreading throughout the region (Lebanon, Iraq, the Gulf states, etc.).
👉 This is no longer a local conflict, but a major regional crisis.
⚠️ Current situation
- Daily attacks from both sides
- Many casualties and significant damage
- High tensions throughout the region 😟
📦 Impact for us
- Shipments to the Middle East have virtually stopped.
- Logistics costs are skyrocketing: a wartime surcharge of approximately USD 4,000 per container 🚢
➜ Result: our products become too expensive in these markets
Ships in transit sometimes unload containers anywhere, a very unstable situation.
🧍♂️ Field report from our agent Waddah, who tells us that:
- People stay at home, going out a maximum of once a day.
- There are 3 to 4 alerts per day 🚨
- The situation is stressful and worrying.
👉 Waddah was still with us in Gulfood at the end of January, but today the situation has become very difficult for him. His family is in Kuwait and he is in Dubai.
🙏 They all hope that the situation will improve quickly
🙏 Our thoughts are with Waddah and all those affected by this situation.
🧀 PREPARATION OF MOZZA STICKS 🧀
Since yesterday, we have been preparing the order for our client Dihego from Honduras !🤝 He ordered a large quantity of Mozzasticks in 226 gram packages.
Preparing this order includes:
👉 Packaging labeling
👉 Box formatting
👉 Packaging the sachets in the boxes
👉 And finally, the packing of the mozzastick boxes
The idea behind this job was to create extra work for us, in line with our increased production capacity. With the situation in Iran, we're impacted, and we hope these small markets will help us find extra tasks and, above all, keep up with customer demand to continue increasing our French fry sales. 🍟🍟🍟🍟

Want to train your colleagues? Great, that's totally part of Ecofrost's DNA! 👏💗
As a reminder, tutoring bonuses are awarded when the training covers a full workday (7 hours and 36 minutes) . If your training is shorter, it is possible to combine several training sessions until you reach this duration.
If your training lasts less than 7 hours and 36 minutes , here are the steps to follow to still be able to value these moments of transmission.
To do this, simply use an attendance sheet and fill in the following information:
- The trainer indicates their name and signature ✍️
- He notes the reason for the training as well as its duration 📋
- The person being trained also provides their name, surname and signature.
Once the total training reaches 7h36, it is possible to submit a request for a tutoring bonus, accompanied by the completed attendance sheet 💰.
We also remind you that the training's main objective is to share knowledge and strengthen mutual support between colleagues , which is very positive for the team 🤝.
To ensure that knowledge has been properly transmitted, knowledge checks may also be carried out following these training sessions.

Offering more items means we will sometimes need to prepare half-pallets or perform order picking to allow customers to try new products. 🙌 Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation with this order picking project, which will allow us to better serve our customers and increase our sales volume.

⚙️ Ultimo for the fridge! ⚙️
As you know, production and packaging use Ultimo as a reference for tracking maintenance tasks. So why not the refrigerator?
For the past two weeks, we have been focusing on using this tool for maintenance tasks for Dawson, Rémy, and Aurélien. The goal is to log tasks to clearly track what remains to be done, what has been completed, and also to plan interventions for the coming weeks based on priorities.
Of course, in case of emergency, they will always remain available for repairs. However, this also allows for better structuring of preventive maintenance in order to minimize unforeseen breakdowns that could disrupt loading or packaging.
We are also currently entering all maintenance parts into Ultimo to track stock levels and prevent any shortages in case of a breakdown. As you've noticed, the installation is now much larger than before. It's time for refrigeration maintenance to evolve at the same pace as the rest of the site. 💪
🇷🇴 Back from a client visit to Romania 😊
During my recent trip to Romania, I had the pleasure of meeting up with our agent Mihaela and visiting our main client, Makedonia.
This visit had 3 clear objectives :
👉 Restart volume with smaller customers and gain access to more parts in Romania, by studying the establishment of a local storage depot in order to be able to deliver smaller quantities.
👉 Activate small new Salesforce prospects for Romania (who don't yet take full truckloads)
👉 Strengthen our partnership with Makedonia, a key player in the Romanian market.
Makedonia will soon begin construction of its own freezer (800 pallet capacity) in Bucharest (the capital of Romania) and is already establishing itself as a solid, stable, and well-established partner in the market. Active in the vegetable and meat sectors with several supermarkets, they have valuable contacts. We are currently considering formalizing this partnership.
⚠️ Challenge to overcome : a new French fry factory in Romania, Rusty, recently started local production (4 products – 60,000 tons/year under private labels). It's up to us to demonstrate that Ecofrost quality, our service, and the breadth of our range make all the difference 💪🍟
A nice little aside 😊: This gentleman (half-Romanian, half-Greek) is a big fan of our social media… he knows Ecofrost inside and out! And the ladies? They were big fans of our socks 💗🤣

Dear colleagues,
Please be extremely careful when depositing your clothes in the Scaldis bins.
A dangerous object was found in a pocket (blade/cutter type).
👉 This is a serious risk for the cleaning staff.
👉 This type of item is strictly prohibited within the factory.
💸 Scaldis Billing – Reminder
Scaldis charges us for every item left in our pockets, for example:
- €8 per pen
- €25 per cutter
- etc.
To give you an idea of the scale: last month's bill was over €6,000 . Yes, that stings.
❗ Why is this important?
- Forgotten objects = human danger
- Unwashed or unreturned clothes = high costs
- Repeated bad practices = unnecessary invoices

- Always empty your pockets before putting clothes in the laundry.

On the agenda: 95 km, a day together, and a clear objective
👉 strengthen ties between colleagues, between countries and between teams.
👉 Full bike ride for the most motivated
👉 It's possible to do this by alternating in pairs!
👉 Arrival at Ecofrost France with a friendly moment and a tour of the site
This project originated from an idea by the sales teams , but it is open to anyone who wants to experience a collective sporting activity.
⚠️ This is not a race.
🎯 It's a team challenge.

During the last CPPT, we discussed the fact that it is currently colder than usual❄️, in addition to the commissioning of the air conditioning in the buffers and the fact that all the airlocks are not yet completely closed.
To improve your comfort, we are implementing a one-off promotion on underpants 👖✨:
We will buy thermal underpants (Decathlon type) for each employee working in the factory who wants one.
👉 This is a one-time purchase and is not part of the Ecofrost outfit; washing will be done on your own initiative.
We are doing our best to receive them quickly, with availability expected no later than mid-February 📦.
This action is open to all factory workers:
reception, cleaning, production, flakes, packaging, fridges, docks and loading 👷♂️👷♀️.

On Wednesday, we inaugurated the natural gas network at the Péronne site , carried out with Gazelec .
This is a key step to prepare for the start of production in March 2026 and to continue to move the project forward, in concrete terms.
This moment is above all the result of the work of many teams, both on the ground and in support, and of good collaboration with our local partners.

NEW INSTALLATION TO TRANSFORM OUR WATER 💧
Good news! Today, we commissioned a brand new installation capable of making the water from our wastewater treatment plant … drinkable !
In practical terms, this technology allows us to produce 40,000 liters of drinking water every hour , the equivalent of filling 240 bathtubs . Not bad, right? 😄
And of course, this high-quality water will allow us to support the production of even more delicious fries ! 🍟✨
